Took a walk down to Santa Monica again to practice with night photography. This seems to be a hot spot for night photography there must have been about 5-6 others with their tripods and such. Any way...enjoy.

Airport Layovers
A couple weeks ago I took a one day flight to San Francisco to a photography seminar. On my way home before my flight I had way too much time to kill with plenty of opportunity to work on a few of the things that I learned. There was a wonderful evening sunlight beaming in creating a fantastic glow on everything. I suspect there will be more "airport layover" pictures in the future. I even started a category in SmugMug.

Post 4th Night Photography
Here are a few shots of what I caught on the 4th this year. I recently discovered the "bulb mode" on the d90 nikon and long exposures. I was i doing a long exposure a pelican flew by and someone near me took a picture with a flash. As a result the pelican shows up almost ghost like on the left. I was happy with the few good ones that I got but I as usual...I still have a lot of room for growth.

Surfing in El Porto.
I went to check out a surfing spot nearby at around 0800 on a weekday. Pretty busy place, no where to park and men changing in between the open car doors trying to be discrete but not really. Check out the rest on SmugBug. If you view it as a slide show it sort of goes in a story fashion. Sort of.
