Taking a break from work

I arrived in St John's safely. No problems really bedsides being a bit cranky from being awake the last 30 hours. Chanty is getting the wind vane placed and we will be taking her for a trial run when its finished to figure out how it works. Other than that odds and end are getting finished up and going as planned even with a quick ride in a 1967 Lotus. Rolland really had to work to get in there. Not made for big people. More later...

Its official!!

I bought a one-way plane ticket to St John's, Canada. I will be leaving after work Saturday morning and arriving around 1am on Sunday. From there I help finish up boat preparations for "Chanty" going back toward NYC and for "Precipice" to Greenland. Rolland's family and friends have taken care of 95% of everything. My 5% is just transporting all the stuff ordered on-line to my NY address up to Canada. I am so lucky! Our plan is to leave Tuesday if everything goes as planned. Woo-Hoo!!! Finally get to do some real sailing again! I am soooooo long over due for another adventure! Good- bye NYC! Good-bye Bronx-leb! I will be back I am sure but maybe not.

Tool space

Final stage

drawer 3

drawer 2

drawer 1

There is just not enough space for all the things you need on the boat. Here is the project i worked on for the last few days. I am happy with the results since i had no idea was i was doing. Now i can store these 3 drawers of tools in storage places much easier and i can toss the huge akward box that doesn't fit anywhere.
